The celebration was attended by Chairman of provincial People’s Council Vu Hoang Ha, provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Thien, the others, and many former leaders.

At the meeting, Ha made the statement, reviewing the 65-year history of Vietnam NA. 65 years ago, Vietnamese people nationwide participated in the General Election of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which is now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, opening up a new era for the Vietnamese nation.

This was the first time in history the nation had become an independent country with a State body legally representing people’s will, desire and right to mastery, which decided the country’s important issues on behalf of the people.

Over the past 65 years with 12 tenures, the NA has unceasingly upheld the role and position as the people’s highest representative agency and the nation’s most powerful State agency. It has effectively exercised its power and carried out its tasks in accordance with the country’s constitution and law, thus making great and important contributions to national liberation, reunification, construction and defence.

Over the 12 tenures of the NA, deputies for Nghia Binh and Binh Dinh have submitted to the NA and State many important and useful proposals.

Speaking at the ceremony, provincial Secretary Thien expressed his happiness at the unceasing development of the NA.

The participants recalled their memories of their time as NA members and expressed their delight at the growth and considerable contributions of the NA during different revolutionary periods.
