Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting with the delegation of the National Assembly’s Council of Ethnic Minorities on January 12.
They talked about the implementation of the Resolution 30a in Binh Dinh under the chair of provincial Vice Chairman Ho Quoc Dung.
After two years of implementing the Government’s Resolution 30A programme for rapid and sustainable poverty reduction in three mountainous districts of An Lao, Vinh Thanh and Van Canh, the local people’s living standard has been gradually improved, particularly in disadvantaged and ethnic minority areas.
Under the program, VND60 billion was spent on building key infrastructure. Three districts received the financial assistance to develop their production.
Provincial Vice Chairman Dung affirmed that Binh Dinh has effectively implemented the programs; however, there were still some shortcomings, affecting the implementation of the Resolution.
Dung and other leaders also suggested other issues, such as preferential policies to attract young officials and the use of capital for afforestation and land reclamation.
Vice Chairwoman of the NA’s Council of Ethnic Minorities Bui Thi Binh highly valued the results, asking the province to give more attention to some issues, including the target of fast and sustainable poverty reduction, efficient use of infrastructure, task assignments, and official training.
