Poem lovers in Binh Dinh will gather at the Thi Nhan Hill in Ghenh Rang tourism site to enjoy their favourite poems on the occasion of Vietnamese Poetry Day taking on the 15th day of the first lunar month. Many young people, particularly students, who are members of different poem clubs, will also come here.

Ready for Vietnamese Poetry Day
Unlike previous years, when each poem club only brought 1-2 shows to the program, the clubs will open their own poem camps to perform their shows and display pictures of their clubs. All are preparing for the poetry day.
Le Quy Don Gifted High School’s students made a journey around historical sites and traditional craft villages in Tay Son district to experience the reality.
“We recited the famous poets’ works and our poems. We also organized a quick poem contest,” said the 11th grader Nguyen Van Nhat. “Everyone was very excited. I also wrote many poems during the journey and I will introduce them to the others on the Poetry Day.”
Hundreds of poems have been sent to the Binh Dinh Young Composition Club’s website, responding to the “Composing poems for Vietnamese Poetry Day” campaign. The netizens who love poems gave special attention to some amateur poets, such as Phong Linh, Thuy Trang, and Le Van Dong.
“The number of club members has sharply increased even though the club has been newly established,” said Diem Kieu, who is in charge the club in Binh Dinh. “The club will bring not only poems but interesting games and art performances to the upcoming Poetry Day, helping young people share experiences together.” Other poem clubs, including the Quy Nhon University’s young literature and arts club and Truong Thi club of Quy Nhon high school, are also eager to prepare for the event.
Happiness of poem lovers
Many young people are eager to join the Poetry Day as the organizing board well prepared for the event, aiming to attract as many people as possible to come and enjoy their shows.
“It will be very happy to see those who love poems as we share the same enthusiasm for poems,” said Le Van Linh, who is the head of Binh Dinh Young Composition Club. “I built the website to help all poem lovers gather together.”
Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc, a student of Quy Nhon University, said she would perform a song set from her poem at the poetry day.
It is a pity that Binh Dinh College’s Art Club won’t join the program; however, many of the club’s members said they would still attend the event.
The young people’s excitement proves that this year’s Poetry Day will be more interesting than previous years. The information about the event on the mass media also made most people curious to wait for the opening of the Vietnamese Poetry Day.
