The district’s socio-economic situation reaped considerable growth last year, according to the report. The local GDP increased by 16.3 percent of which the agro-forestry-aquatic sectors saw a rise of 9.6 percent, trade and services 21.4 percent, and industry – small scale industry 18.9 percent.
The socio-cultural activities, poverty alleviation movement, national defense and security also gained many positive results.
In 2011, Vinh Thanh will strive to reach the growth rate of 15.4 percent, among which the agro-forestry-aquatic products will rise by 5.3 percent, trade and services 22.5 percent, and industry-small scale industry 19 percent.
Also, the local authorities set the target of VND100 million for the local budget revenue. The rate of poor households will reduce by 2-3 percent.
Speaking at the meeting with the district’s leaders, Thien highly appreciated their effort and asked them to focus on the Winter-Spring crop, epidemic prevention against diseases on poultry and cattle, and forest protection and management.
Alongside these, the local authorities were also required to quickly strengthen the infrastructure construction in Ta Suc industrial zone, investment attraction, and the management of small and medium scale hydroelectric plant construction.
