According to the statistics, thousands of rural laborers whose cultivation land was revoked need to change their jobs every year. Although they all received compensation money, it’s still hard for them to find other suitable jobs.
The Department has, thus, coordinated with vocational training centers to open suitable courses for rural laborers in the past years. Depending on their needs, they will attend different vocational training courses.
Thanks to the mobile vocational training and preferential policies, the number of rural laborers registering to attend the courses has increased every year.
The statistics also showed that the number of rural laborers who left their hometowns has considerably reduced since the mobile vocational training courses were opened as many are now able to have stable jobs.
Binh Dinh was allocated more than 19.2 billion VND to open vocational training courses for rural workers in 2011, under the “Vocational training for rural people until 2020” project.
Accordingly, 13 billion VND will be used to upgrade the facilities, 5.6 billion VND will be supported the vocational training for 2,572 rural workers, and 530 million will be dedicated to official training at grass roots level.
Districts of Van Canh, An Lao, Vinh Thanh, Hoai An, and Tay Son as well as communes which registered to build new rural model will be given priority. Also, the 2011’s rural vocational training scheme will prioritise poor households, ethnic minority people and policy beneficiaries.
The Department has cooperated with the General Department of Vocational Training to carry out a pilot project on vocational training for rural laborers in Binh Thanh commune of Tay Son district.
51 rural workers joining the project will be offered chances to work at local businesses or take out loans to do their own business.
The Department will continue three new models of vocational training in Tay Giang commune of Tay Son district and Tam Quan commune of Hoai Nhon district, aiming to help rural laborers develop their household business.
This year’s rural vocational training program will focus on the quality and efficiency, helping to reduce the rate of poor households and build new rural model, according to head of the Department’s vocational training office, Le Van Nghinh.
