The 13th national week on labor, hygiene safety, and fire prevention was launched in Quy Nhon on March 20 with the theme “Labor, hygiene safety for family happiness and businesses’ sustainable development”.

People who greatly contributed to the labor safety are honored.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh said all bodies, localities, and businesses always focus on this issue. Many solutions and initiatives were worked out to ensure the labor and hygiene safety.

However, there are still some shortcomings around the issue, she added. The number of occupational accidents and fire has happened frequently, causing serious damage.

Binh asked all functional bodies and businesses to strictly implement the regulations on labor and hygiene safety as well as fire prevention and control. The employees were also asked to raise their awareness of the issue.

The province saw 168 labor accidents, leaving 10 dead and a loss of VND1.5 billion, let alone 51 fires with the total loss of VND4.6 billion in 2010.

On this occasion, those who effectively carried out the labor safety in 2010 were honored.
