Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee on April 14 organized the 6th extended session, reviewing its tasks in the first quarter and preparing for the second quarter’s issues.
According to the reports, the province’s GDP increased by 7.2 percent in the first quarter of 2011, 3 percent lower than the growth rate in the previous year’s corresponding period.
Other issues are under control and kept stable, said the report.
The participants pointed out the reasons affecting the growth rate of local GDP in the first quarter and discussed possible solutions to carry out the tasks in the second quarter.
Speaking at the meeting, provincial Party Chief Nguyen Van Thien asked the provincial People’s Committee to focus on resolving difficulties for some key businesses and cutting unnecessary expenses.
The agriculture sector was required to help farmers harvest the Winter-Spring rice crop and prepare for the Summer – Autumn crop.
Thien also asked the industry and trade sector to implement measures against smuggling and be ready for the elections of the 13th National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels.
He steered all relevant bodies to implement six programs proposed by the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and the Party Congress’s resolutions as well as prepare for the elections of the 13th National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels.
