The “Lightning gratitude candles” program simultaneously took place in all localities of Binh Dinh at 8 pm on Jul.26, commemorating the fallen soldiers on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

Youth union members and young people attended the “Lightning gratitude candles” program at the martyrs’ cemetery in An Tuong Tay commune.

500 Youth union members and young people attended the program at the martyrs’ cemetery in An Tuong Tay commune. They lightened candles on each fallen soldier’s grave, expressing their deep gratitude towards their sacrifice for the country’s independence.

“I felt moved when seeing most of fallen soldiers sacrificed their lives when they were very young,” said Nguyen Tan Dat, a Youth union member.

Under the program, more than 11,000 Youth union members lightened candles at 103 martyrs’ cemeteries across the province at the same time.

Alongside this, some Youth union’s affiliates organized different activities, such as performing songs and dances, telling stories about Uncle Ho, granting scholarships to children whose parents are war invalids or martyrs.

In An Nhon district, the Youth union held a meeting with the heroes of the people’s armed forces and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids and martyrs’ families.

On this occasion, many provincial bodies and businesses held many activities responding to the “Gratitude” campaign. The Youth union affiliate of the Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam’s Phu Tai branch, for example, visited and presented a gift to two Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in districts of Phu My and Hoai An.
