All schools in Binh Dinh Province have started the first days of new school year since August 15. Director of Binh Dinh Department of Education and Training Tran Van Qui talks more about the preparation for the upcoming academic year.
Could you reveal the previous year’s academic results and key tasks for the upcoming school year?
The province’s education sector has maintained its quality in learning and teaching during the previous school year. The “two Nos” campaign was effectively carried out thanks to all-out efforts from relevant bodies and schools.
Binh Dinh also saw the first student winning a bronze medal at the international Chemistry Olympiad after many years. Schools and houses for teachers were newly built, meeting the demand for teaching and learning, let alone some training courses opened for teaching staff and officials.
The province’s educational quality has caught up with other provinces and cities nationwide in the 2010-2011 academic year. Le Quy Don Specialized high school is now a famous school where many talented students have graduated in the past years.
The sector will continue improving the management capacity and educational quality in the upcoming academic year. The infrastructure construction will be given special concern, aiming to build schools meeting the national standard.
Alongside these, there will be many improvements seen the new academic year.
How about the preparation for the new school year?
Binh Dinh sees 356,000 students in the 2011-2012 academic year. Among them, there are 57,000 attending kindergartens, 124,000 primary school students, 101,000 junior high school students, and 74,000 senior high school students.
The Department of Education and Training coordinated with local authorities to upgrade many schools and build some new classrooms as well as equip more facilities.
The Department asked all relevant bodies to mobilize students to go to schools. The quality is our top priority. Besides the sector’s effort, all parents and other bodies are required to help us finish the highest goal in education. The new school year is expected to reap more achievements.
