The program is dedicated to students living central provinces. They often face many difficulties in their life but still try their utmost to study well. They are the pride of their families.
The rich may be despised if their children study badly while the poor is still respected if their kids study well. Academic success is a special “cultural” feature in the central region. A family may go hungry, but their children must finish their studying successfully. Many scholarship-winning students faced such difficulties.
Huynh Thai Duong, a freshman of Hue University, said his family members had to eat sweet potatoes with fish sauce for two or three months as his parents were jobless during the rainy season.
There are also hundreds of students in the same boat.
More than 430 scholarships were presented to students in the central provinces and about 1,000 scholarships will be granted to poor students in other regions in the coming time. However, the number of scholarships is not able to help all poor students.
Each scholarship is expected to partly help the students make all-out effort to study well and become successful in their life.
