During his 2-day working visit to Binh Dinh province, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung together with officials from central government and agencies visited the Phu Cat – based 940th Regiment, Division 372 of Vietnam People’s Air Defence - Air Force. The delegation included former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Dai Quang, member of Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Public Security; top officials of Ministry of Defence and Vietnam People’s Air Defence - Air Force; leaders of some central agencies, of provincial and municipal governments and enterprises.

PM Dung highly appreciated efforts of the Regiment in protecting the country’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; maintaining the country’s political security and peace as foundation for the country’s development.
PM Dung emphasized the key role of Vietnam People’s Navy and Air Force in determinedly protecting the country’s independence and sovereignty. He also encouraged the Regiment to maintain its strong will and readiness for any possible fighting. PM Dung expected the Regiment to uphold its honourable traditions, fulfilling its missions and tasks assigned well, partly contributing to general task of protecting the nation.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year – Year of Dragon 2012, on behalf of the central government, PM Dung wished all officials and soldiers of Vietnam People’s Army, the Air Defence and Air Force in general, the 940th Regiment in particular good health, happiness, success and new achievements.
Then, PM Dung made a tour around the Regiment and planted a tree there.
Earlier in the day, PM Dung and former Party General Secretary Phieu visited Mr. Nguyen Trung Tin (88), ex-member of Party Central Committee, former Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee.
