The 2012 UPU international letter-writing competition with theme “"Write a letter to an athlete or sports figure you admire to explain what the Olympic Games mean to you" kicked off at Le Loi Secondary School, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province on December 5, 2011. Since then, the school has encouraged its students to participate the competition.
Joining the competition, the students are free to express their own opinions, have more chances to understand about the world around them; enable them practice their aptitude for literature and love the subject more; offer them a kind of useful extra-curriculum activity.
Every Monday morning, the school informs its students about the theme, regulations of the competition and ways to participate the event. Before the daily classes start or at the end of the week, teachers who monitor the classes and who teach literature instruct the students to take part in the competition.
The school has already established a school-level board of examinators who choose the 40 best letters to join the provincial level competition.
