Tu is always friendly and happy |
Nguyen Hong Tu, a twelfth-grader of Le Quy Don high school for gifted students, has won the first prize in biology at the 2012 national academic contests for outstanding high school students.
Tu has been an outstanding student for many years, gaining high prizes at different contests of provincial and national magnitudes. That friendly girl has a strong character.
Her classmates admire Tu for not only her academic achievements but her participation in social activities, such as joining the military semester, visiting the Quy Nhon SOS Children’s village, and playing a key role in the school’s Youth union’s executive board.
Tu doesn’t understand why she has great enthusiasm for biology. Perhaps, one of the main causes motivating her to focus on the biology is her dream of becoming a good doctor in the near future.
Talking about her secret in studying, Tu said that she always knows how to balance between studying and relax. Also, she has to read not only text books but advanced ones.
“Like other students, I also wanted to get a high prize when joining the contest; however, my main goal was to have a chance to experience more knowledge,” Tu said.
She is now nominated to be admitted to the Party, according to the school’s headmaster Pham Quang Bac.
At present, Tu has been preparing for the selection contest for the international Olympiad squad in April.
