A ceremony took place in Hoai An district’s Square 19.4 on Thursday (April 19), celebrating the 40th anniversary of Hoai An Liberation.
The local authorities, government officials, and Binh Dinh’s leadership attended the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, provincial Chairman Le Huu Loc reviewed the glorious achievements of Hoai An’s people in the revolutionary war, particularly the historic victory in 1972.
40 years ago, local people and soldiers defeated the enemy’s defense system in the northern area, liberating the whole district. Hoai An then became an important base for the revolutionary campaign in Binh Dinh and Zone 5.
Loc emphasized the event is an opportunity for its people and local authorities to be proud of their achievement, expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the nation’s independence and freedom.
The district has reaped great achievements in the past 40 years, contributing to the province’s socio-economic development.
Attending the meeting, former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu expressed the hope that Hoai An would uphold the tradition for further development. The participants also stressed the importance of the Hoai An’s Liberation in 1972.
An impressive art performance took place then, featuring the history of Hoai An district during the revolutionary war and development period.
