This year’s 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day will see many practical activities dedicated to war invalids as well as social beneficiaries. Director of Binh Dinh Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Department Pham Van Thi talks more.

Taking care of social beneficiaries is the whole community’s responsibility

What are the highlights of the celebration of the upcoming 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day in Binh Dinh?

The celebration will be highlighted by the meeting co-organized by different bodies on July 26, following by such activities as a visit to martyrs’ cemetery and candle lighting ceremony.

There will be a conference to honour social beneficiaries doing business well and those who have actively contributed to the “Gratitude” movement.

The provincial leaders also plan to visit typical social beneficiaries and center providing treatment for war invalids and the local authorites are expected to organize a trip to Ha Noi for war invalids and martyrs’ relatives this month.

The province will see other activities on the occasion, such as upgrading martyrs’ cemeteries or promoting the search for martyrs’ remains.

Do you think that it’s important to focus on the effectiveness in taking care of social beneficiaries?

That’s right. When proposing any plans, we always require that activities dedicated to social beneficiaries must prove effective and practical. The Department has coordinated with localities to strengthen the “Gratitude” movement, focusing on housing construction for social beneficiaries.

For example, tt present, the program of building houses for 274 social beneficiaries who face difficulties in their life has been implemented.

Alongside this, all resources are being mobilized to raise “Gratitude” fund for social beneficiaries. The local authorities were also asked to improve the quality of program dedicated for social beneficiaries in the community.
