Over 20,000 Binh Dinh fishermen to spend Tet holiday at sea
14:34', 5/2/ 2013 (GMT+7)

More than 20,000 Binh Dinh fishermen going fishing on 2,000 boats are expected to spend the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday at fishing grounds near Vietnam’s Spratly islands and Paracel Islands.

According to Mai Kim Thi, head of Binh Dinh aquatic resources exploration and protection bureau, many fishing boats won’t return home during Tet as the Tet holiday coincides with the main season for ocean tuna exploration.

The price for ocean tuna is around 60,000-65,000 VND per kilogram; however, each fishing boat still earns 40-100 million VND thanks to high output and cooperation.
