On the Ghenh Rang’s mountain slide, tourists can see the whole of the east of Quy Nhon city, Phuong Mai peninsula, and Thi Nai lagoon. Near the edge of the East sea situates the late poet Han Mac Tu’s final resting place.
Ghenh Rang is still called the mountain for its range of mountains extends as far as Quy Hoa beach. They are high enough for tourists to enjoy the Quy Nhon city’s landscape while Quy Hoa beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Quy Nhon, which is considered as an ideal place for the vacation and medical treatment.
Thanks to the available advantages, Binh Dinh has invested in upgrading the infrastructure to fully exploit the Ghenh Rang’s potential, making it become the key tourism site. Ghenh Rang tourism site will include the Queen beach, yacht club, cultural park, and entertainment sub-sites, according to Nguyen Van Minh, manager of Ghenh Rang tourism site project.
Sai Gon-Quy Nhon Tourism Joint-Stock Company invested VND60 billion ($3.75 million) in conducting the first phase on an area of 16 hectares, including the construction of more than 90 rooms, a central complex with meeting hall, restaurant and entertainment area, and the restoration of Bao Dai tower. Many trees and grass cover have been planted but its original landscape still remains intact and a banquet room with the seating capacity of 600 is now in use beside a 50-seat-meeting room and a 100-seat-bar on the terrace.
The Ghenh Rang tourism site administration plans to invest about VND3 billion in restoring the poet Han Mac Tu’s grave and propose the investment project for the second phase at Xuan Van hill on an area of over 150 hectares in the coming time. Currently, some investors have registered to invest in the second phase-project, consisting of the golf course, camping sites, animal raising areas, and parks. The development of the “non-smoke” industry, however, still depends on many factors, especially the traffic system, added Minh.
Binh Dinh province is now making the Ghenh Rang’s potential come true. The current issue is how to attract the investment capital for the construction of infrastructure.
