The tourism promotion needs strengthening to help the tourism quickly become one of the key industries in Binh Dinh.

1. Binh Dinh Tourism Promotion Center (BTP) has cooperated with relevant bodies to strengthen activities introducing the potential of Binh Dinh tourism.

Many publications and CDs about Binh Dinh tourism were published, let alone a series of advertisement run on the mass media, contributing to promote the tourism in Binh Dinh.

Also, tourism projects and incentive policies were popularized to attract investors coming to Binh Dinh.

To assist tour operators in Binh Dinh in doing business with other travel agencies as well as advertising Binh Dinh tourism, BTP has encouraged them to join tourism expos held nationwide.

Thanks to such activities, particularly Tay Son – Binh Dinh Festival held in August, scores of tourists and travel agencies, both domestic and foreign, have known more about Binh Dinh.

2. However, the infrastructure construction and tourism promotion activities haven’t proved effective, according to provincial People’s Committee’s reports.

The tourism promotion, therefore, needs more effective investment to strengthen the development of Binh Dinh tourism.

Many travel agencies said that Binh Dinh tourism has the potential for growth. Its destinations could be listed in their programs, according to Huynh Cao Nhat, BTP director.

They also said that, however, the promotion hasn’t been focused. Binh Dinh hasn’t, thus, attracted more tourists.

Still, we are worrying about the infrastructure and services at destinations. These haven’t met the tourists’ demands.

The tourism promotion must be carried out synchronously. Tour operators have to actively participate in the promotion. Administrative bodies, for example, are concerned of the infrastructure and tour operators focus on services, Nhat added.

14 destinations in Binh Dinh were advertised in Tay Son – Binh Dinh Festival and HCM City Tourism Expo 2008.

Travel agencies were surprised that Binh Dinh has so many tourist sites. But they still worried about tourism products and services.

Meeting their demands means meeting tourists’ demands. The tourism industry as well as tour operators in Binh Dinh know what to do.
