Charming place in central region

The central Binh Dinh Province has a variety of natural and humanity recourses for tourism development. The province is famous for Sa Huynh, Oc Eo and Dong Son Cultures. The province is also famous for ChamPa Culture and other cultures. Binh Dinh is home to many cultural and historical relics, including 33 national and 50 provincial ones. Many places have become attractive destinations for local and international tourists: ancient Cham towers, imperial city dated from Nguyen Nhac Dynasty, Quang Trung Museum, Tay Son Temple, Thap Thap Pagoda…

Binh Dinh is also famous for beautiful landscapes and a wonderful long coastline. Binh Dinh is known as the land of Poem, martial arts and Tuong. The province has been home to many famous Vietnamese poets such as Dao Tan, Xuan Dieu, Han Mac Tu, Che Lan Vien, Quach Tan, Yen Lan… and heroes named King Quang Trung, Bui Thi Xuan, Tran Quang Dieu, Vo Van Dung, Dao Duy Tu, Mai Xuan Thuong… In addition, Binh Dinh boasts potential for eco-tourism development… Visiting the province, visitors will enjoy wonderful performances of martial arts and Tay Son War Drum.

Binh Dinh boasts hundreds of cultural and historical relics. Of 200 relics, some 30 are national relics. Moreover, the locality is also home to interesting festivals, traditional craft villages and unique gastronomy.

Favourable geographical location is also another potential for local tourism development. In 2005, Binh Dinh welcomed 380,000 tourist arrivals. The figure is expected to hit 750,000 this year.  Some local key tourist sites and tours: Quy Nhon-Song Cau, Phuong Mai – Nui Ba eco-tourism tour, tours to historical sites of Quy Nhon - An Nhon – Tay Son... Many tourism projects had been built in the province, including Life Resort, Resort Hoang Anh, Saigon-Quy Nhon Hotel, Quang Trung Park, Dong Da Park… making contributions to the local tourism development.

The Resolution of the XVII Congress of Binh Dinh Party Committee set targets for the local tourism development: developing Binh Dinh into a national tourism hub and a local key economic sector. To gain the goal, Binh Dinh has mapped out measures: preserving and upgrading historical and cultural relics and landscapes; pouring more investment in development typical tourism products and services; boosting tourism promotion activities on mass media as well as at local and international conferences to advertise its image, opening more tourism representative offices in the country and overseas; building tourism development programmes, tours, and calling on investment for local tourism projects; carrying out propaganda programmes to update information about new policies of the State and the province, creating favourable conditions for investors, businesses and visitors... The province has also paid attention to strengthen its tourism apparatus to tighten control over tourism activities.

In addition, the province has also carried out many tourism promotion activities. Notably, the province successfully held the first Tay Son-Binh Dinh Festival late July and early August this year and the second International Festival of Traditional Martial Arts. These have been the largest-scale cultural, tourism and sports festivals in the province which introduced unique culture of the land of Poem and Martial Arts and potentials for tourism development to domestic and international friends.
