Locating between Nha Trang city and Hoi An ancient town, Binh Dinh hasn’t become an attractive tourist destination. However, those who once visited Binh Dinh wish to return to this province to discover the beauties in the land of martial arts.
Binh Dinh has not only magnificent mountain ranges, long beaches, well-known specialties, and distinctive vestiges but cultural features of ethnic minorities.
Binh Dinh is also known as the home town of King Quang Trung, the hero in plain clothing, and the origin of Tay Son Dynasty.
The first destination is the poet Han Mac Tu’s tomb on Thi Nhan (poet) hill in Ghenh Rang tourist site, which is 2 km away from the center of Quy Nhon city.
Along two sides of the road to this site are lines of trees, creating a picturesque view. Han Mac Tu’s tomb backs the mountain and faces the East Sea, helping tourists enjoy the natural beauty.
Down from Thi Nhan hill lays the Queen beach. Legend has it that queen Nam Phuong took it as her private beach whenever coming here.
Walking on pebbles in bare feet, tourists are able to feel pleasant in a natural landscape. These pebbles can be taken as a souvenir.
Another destination is Quang Trung Museum in Tay Son District, which is about 45 km away from Quy Nhon city. It is one of the most beautiful museums in Vietnam. In front of the museum is the statue of King Quang Trung cast in bronze.
Visiting Quang Trung Museum, tourists will be able to know more about historical items showing King Quang Trung’s achievements, let alone Binh Dinh martial arts performances.
Tay Son District also has Ham Ho tourist site locating in the lower section of Kut River. Tourists can have a local person guide to explore ranges of strange granite and trees along the river.
Duong Long towers, also called Nga (ivory) towers, locate near Ham Ho. With stone sculptures and relievos, Duong Long towers are expected to satisfy those who love to discover ancient vestiges.
With many Cham towers, craft villages, and Linh Phong pagoda, Binh Dinh has potential to become an attractive tourist destination.
