Binh Dinh tour operators may be the happiest when the Ha Noi-Quy Nhon direct flight route opened because they’ve eyed the tourism market in the north for a long time.
Advantages of new route
Road and rail travelling to Binh Dinh was previously convenient; meanwhile, travelling by air was a disadvantage to Binh Dinh tourism.
Until now, flights to Binh Dinh have positively changed. The 300-seat plane A300 has been used for HCM City-Quy Nhon route. The opening of Ha Noi-Quy Nhon direct route on Jan.16 is expected to strengthen the socio-economic development in Binh Dinh and its neighboring provinces, including the tourism.
“We had operated some tours for tourists in the north to visit Binh Dinh, but they often felt tired when waiting for the flight transition at Da Nang Airport. This resulted in the waste of time and money. But now all are different. The flight schedule is quite convenient. With the new route, Binh Dinh has the potential for attracting more tourists in the north and MICE tours,” said Central Tourist Co.,Ltd director Nguyen Pham Kien Trung.
“With the Ha Noi-Quy Nhon direct air route, it will be more convenient for tourists to travel to the north or visit Binh Dinh,” Quy Nhon Viettravel director said. “Although tourists have to pay more, it takes only few hours to travel by air. They, therefore, will feel more comfortable for the visit.
Remaining tasks
Obviously, the Ha Noi-Quy Nhon direct air route will strengthen Binh Dinh tourism. This is the right time to further the Binh Dinh tourism promotion in the capital and northern provinces.
Under the steering of provincial People’s Committee, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and tour operators have planned to increase the number of tourists travelling by air, according to Nguyen Thanh Son, vice director of provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
Many hotels and tour operators have offered passengers travelling on the direct route a discount.
The provincial tourism sector is now asking tour operators to operate more attractive tours and display souvenirs at hotels and restaurants.
Hopefully, with such positive changes, Binh Dinh tourism will overcome difficulties to develop in the coming time.
