There is also Quy Nhon Station, 1km from the city’s downtown. As to sea, Quy Nhon has one of the 10 largest ports nationwide, with plenty of links locally and internationally.
In terms of its tourist products, the city is strongly associated with the sea, with dreamlike beaches that are involved in Vietnamese legends. The Ghenh Rang area, 3km from the city’s downtown, has a beautiful landscape with beaches stretching kilometers. The landscape is a group of hilly outcrops with various shaped caves like lion head, Vong Phu (Awaiting Husband) Rock, and many others. From a hillside, people can look over the whole of Quy Nhon’s east and Phuong Mai Peninsula. Nearby is the grave of famous poet Han Mac Tu.
Other unique features of Binh Dinh are the Champa and Duong Long towers. Duong Long Tower is a group of architecturally and historically significant buildings showing Khmer arts. They were built in the 12th century, the period when Champa arts flourished. The tower complex comprises two middle towers 14 meters high and two side towers 22m high. The towers’ details are lively and beautiful, making Duong Long one of the most beautiful towers in the central region. It is also made beautiful thanks to the surrounding landscape, thus attracting all tourists who have visited the cultural heritage sites in Binh Dinh.
Banh It Tower was built in the late 11th century or early 12th century on a hill between branches of the Con River, 20km from Quy Nhon. This is a group of four towers, of which each owns a special feature. On each tower, there is statue of Shiva made of stone. These are of high artistic value among the Champa arts that have survived the ages. There are also Doi (Twin) Towers, Canh Tien Tower and more.
In talking about Binh Dinh, one must never forget the Tay Son area and the Tay Son Brothers, heroes of the 18th century. Tay Son is 50km from Quy Nhon. There, Quang Trung Museum was built in 1978 with nine showrooms displaying objects relating to the Tay Son uprising and King Quang Trung. As well, there is the Tay Son worshipping temple and two very valuable historical relics, an ancient tamarind tree and a very old well. Tourists can see performances about Tay Son’s vivid history, Tay Son martial arts, Quang Trung war drumming, folk music, and more.
