Ham Ho eco-tourism site in Tay Son District is one of attractive destinations in the central province of Binh Dinh. At present, Ham Ho Tourism JSC has diversified more services and products, aiming to attract visitors. The company’s director, Nguyen Dinh Sanh, talked more about the issue.
What do you think about the operation of Ham Ho tourism site?
Ham Ho is a 40-ha picturesque natural site, having the potential for fully developing the eco-tourism. It has been built since 2004, attracting more and more tourists.
The company has invested VND10 billion in building the infrastructure and services here in the first phase (2004-2010). As planned, about VND2 billion is to be invested in building some new items to better serve those who will visit Ham Ho.
The site is under the tourism route of Quy Nhon-An Nhon-Tay Son which has many vestiges and beautiful landscapes, but its potential hasn’t been fully explored for it is quite far from the city and there are not various services.
To attract more tourists, it’s necessary to have different services and products and advertisement. How has the company prepared for the issues?
With many advantages, Ham Ho tourism site will become a very attractive destination if there are numerous visitors coming to Binh Dinh.
The company has made every effort to improve the infrastructure and services. At present, Ham Ho is able to offer restaurants with different specialties, fast food service, and other tourism products.
In early this year, we also provide villas for those who want to stay overnight to participate in camping, night party, and cong chieng (Gongs) performance. The ostrich riding, park, and some new services are going to be in use this year.
Alongside the advertisement on the province’s mass media, Ham Ho tourism site was also advertised on Ho Chi Minh Television Station’s channels in late 2008. The company cooperated with tour operators to introduce the site to tourists.
With such preparations, Ham Ho tourism site is expected to attract more and more visitors.
Ham Ho tourism site is also facing many difficulties. What do you want to petition the authority to help the company explore the site effectively?
Ham Ho is an eco-tourism site. We, therefore, hope to be allowed to add the environmental hygiene fee to the ticket price, which will help our staff better the environment protection.
We also expressed the hope that Quy Nhon Bus Company will open more routes from Phu Phong to Ham Ho on weekends, meeting the visitors’ demand for travelling.
Some roads towards the site need repairing to avoid the traffic jam during the rush hour.
