Aiming to attract more tourists to the central province of Binh Dinh, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism planned to open a club, offering Tuong (classical drama), bai choi (a performance-slash-game in which participants bet on the missing words of poems or folksongs), and Binh Dinh’s martial arts performance to tourists.

Nguyen An Pha, the Department’s vice director and club chairman, talks more about the issue.
What is the aim of the establishment of the club?
The province’s tourism has strongly developed, attracting more and more visitors coming to Binh Dinh. However, products and services haven’t met the demand for tourism development.
To keep tourists stay longer, therefore, it’s necessary to have various and distinctive services. Tuong, bai choi, and traditional martial arts are well-know cultural features in Binh Dinh. Those who visit the province all love to enjoy them.
Some travel agencies also provided art performances for tourists, but that is not enough. The establishment of the club is , therefore, expected to diversify the range of services for tourism.
Also, the club aims to further promote the beauty of Binh Dinh’s traditional culture, contributing to preserve the province’s distinctive cultural features.
How about its operation in the coming time?
The club will show its performances when being invited by travel agencies. In the short term, the province’s artists and Masters will be invited to join the club.
Alongside this, an art show including Tuong, bai choi, and martial arts was selected. We are also preparing for new programs.
Typical artists, Masters, and those who expect to join the club will be admitted. Its members will be divided into two groups, which have its own programs comprising of Tuong, bai choi, and traditional martial arts.
The club is looking for sponsorship from organisations and companies before it could afford the operation by itself. The general director of Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam donated VND100 million to the club.
At present, the club is preparing for its debut by June.
