Rocks and streams create a picturesque view |
The harmony of rocks and streams in Ham Ho tourism site create picturesque scenery in the central province of Binh Dinh.
Ham Ho is located in Phu My hamlet, Tay Phu commune of Tay Son district. Tourists have to travel about 40 km from Quy Nhon to Phu Phong town before coming to Ham Ho which is 7 km away from the town.
Tay Son is also know as the hero Nguyen Hue’s home town and the birthplace of Tay Son movement.
Before flowing through the Con River, the confluence of two small rivers, one from Ba Cuong mountain and one from Dong Le, meanders across rocks of various shapes, creating a stream called Ham Ho (also known as Kut River).
Ham Ho is a so-called museum of rocks. Rocks, big and small, with different shapes have simple names, such as Trao, Vo Ruou, Ban Co giant footprint, or Dung.
Ham Ho is one of well-known destinations in Binh Dinh. It often becomes a very busy tourism site owing to thousands of tourists coming there during holidays.
When there is no visitor, Ham Ho is covered with a peaceful atmosphere. Those who come there by chance could hear the wind rustling through the forest canopy, streams murmuring across rocks, and birds singing and enjoy fresh air.
The rainy season sees different kinds of woodland flowers in full blossom and streams flowing over the rocks.
From the parking place, tourists could travel by carriage or boat. They will be then able to row across streams, go fishing, or walk in the forest.
Those who enjoy swimming could swim at Vung Trau Nam (a pool where buffaloes lie), but must watch out the reef.
Tourists shouldn’t forget to enjoy specialties, such as Bau Da wine, mia birds, and wild vegetables
