Peaceful Trung Luong beach
14:5', 27/12/ 2010 (GMT+7)

Trung Luong – Cat Tien has gradually become an attractive destination in Binh Dinh. Although Cat Tien has quickly changed its appearance, its waters still leave good impression on many tourists thanks to its own unspoiled and peaceful features.

Going to Quy Nhon from Cat Khanh, De Gi or travelling from Quy Nhon to De Gi, Cho Gom (Gom market), I always like driving slowly to enjoy the waters of Trung Luong. I often wonder how the water looks so clean and pristine. The sand is very silky and the waves break on the shore gently.

The casuarinas trees and sea water morning glory grow in a hustle beside the beach while rows of cactuses spread along the road nearby. When the summer comes, cactuses begin to blossom, attracting any travelers who pass by.

Unlike De Gi beach, Trung Luong sees less seafood restaurants. It is impressed any tourists with its natural features, natives, and services. When I stopped in the shade of a tree, a middle-aged woman talked to me that I should place my motorbike in her yard as she would take no fee.

Since the coastal road in the east was put in use, the number of tourists visiting Trung Luong has also increased. Coming to the beach, they are also able to climb the Ba Mountain jutting out the sea.

Under the Ba Mountain there will be a statue of Ba Mountain Victory, a work honoring the Ba Mountain historical relic which was an important base during the revolutionary wars.

Coming here, tourists could visit the Linh Phong pagoda – one of the most ancient pagodas in Binh Dinh – which is also called Ong Nui. From the pagoda, visitors will be offered a panorama of picturesque rice fields, mountains, and lakes.

Tourists are also advised to visit the Vong Phu (waiting for husband) stone, located in Chanh Oai hamlet, Cai Hai commune, when they travel to Trung Luong. The legend has it that a woman carrying her child in her arms climbed up the mountain to wait for her husband. They hadn’t eaten or drunk anything for a long time before being turned into stone. The stone is now a legend and it was told in many artistic works.
