Tourism potential
The Quy Nhon city has many advantages for the tourism development, such as unique landscapes and picturesque beaches which could be exploited for the sea tourism.
Also, the Phuong Mai peninsula, Ba Mountain, and Thi Nai lagoon, which are known as the province’s “gold mines”, are attractive destination for various types of tourism, including resort, mangrove forest eco-tourism, and sea sports.
The sea also offers different kinds of seafood with delicious cuisine, making Quy Nhon become one of the most gastronomic cities in Vietnam.
What’s more, with its distinctive historical and cultural features, Quy Nhon is expected to become a tourism hub in the central region in the future. The city is proud of being the birthplace of many well-known artists and national heroes.
Another advantage of Quy Nhon city is the traffic system, particularly the sea route. The Quy Nhon seaport has a capacity for big tourism ships. Thousands of tourists have travelled to Binh Dinh by sea in the past few years.
Alongside this, the upgrade of Phu Cat airport and the increase of flights to Binh Dinh have greatly contributed to the effective operation of tourism in the province.
Many newly-built routes, such as Quy Nhon- Song Cau and Quy Nhon – Nhon Hoi, have brought many socio-economic advantages to the city.
The city’s decoration was also strengthened, aimed at taking full advantage of its potential for sea tourism. Quy Nhon now faces the sea, making it become more beautiful and attractive.
But still unattractive
Quy Nhon city is on the way to become one of the sea tourism hubs in the central region. However, its tourism activities still see some shortcomings. The potential, for example, hasn’t been fully exploited due to the shortage of tourism services, let alone the slow progress of tourism projects.
Many hotels could be found around the city, but it’s the lack of entertainment venues which makes Quy Nhon less attractive.
With the target of becoming a tourism city, Quy Nhon needs to focus on developing the key tourism infrastructure, giving priority over the sea route, tourism projects, and big-scaled entertainment venues.
The city planning, decoration, and construction also need promoting, aimed at making Quy Nhon become a green, clean, beautiful city.
Alongside these, it’s necessary to continue to organising cultural events, such as Tay Son –Binh Dinh Festival and the international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts. These are expected to leave tourists with good impression.
Quy Nhon city now has golden opportunity to speed up its tourism sector, attracting more and more domestic and foreign tourists.
