11:17', 19/7/ 2011 (GMT+7)

The Dinh Binh lake located at the upper Con River in Vinh Thanh district. It is 70 km far from Quy Nhon in the west and is one of attractive destinations Binh Dinh.

Starting the journey to the west from Quy Nhon city, tourists would come to Dinh Binh lake. The road leading to the lake meanders across rice fields and many picturesque scenes. Before reaching the lake, tourists could enjoy ancient Cham towers located on the high mountains or listen to stories about the Con river, the biggest one in Binh Dinh.

The river is originated in the region where three provinces of Quang Ngai, Kon Tum and Binh Dinh meet. Legend has it that the river was named after a type of fish in the North sea.

Coming to Vinh Hao commune, tourists will see a huge concrete dam built inside the Dinh Binh irrigation work, helping prevent flood and drought in the region which faced disasters for years.

The lake owns a beautiful landscape. Travelling by motorboats on the river, tourists are able to enjoy the fresh air.

The residents living around the lake are mainly Bana ethnic minority people. Visiting their houses, tourists will have a chance to enjoy ruou can (a kind of win drunk out of a jar through pipes) and various specialties. Also, they will see the traditional clothes made by Bana women.
