Nhon Ly bustling with folk games

The coastal festival of culture and sport was held for the thirteenth time in Nhon Ly commune, bringing people distinctive cultural features.

The event succeeded in honoring folk features, such as face-to-face singing contest, bai choi singing. Not only old but also young people joined the contest to sing familiar folk songs. The winner was the team whose members have beautiful voices, singing in the right way.

Many teams participated in the bai choi singing contest which was successfully held thanks to preparations. The teams from communes of Nhon Ly, Nhon Hai and Nhon Chau reached the final as they had good umpires, who showed unique accesses to Bai Choi. Nhon Hai commune won the first prize while Nhon Chau and Nhon Ly came as second and third positions respectively.

Thousands of local people came to enjoy the bai choi singing during the event. Nguyen Du, a member of Nhon Hai’s team, said this was one of attractive activities at the festival; thus, it needs to be held in the following year’s events.

The participating teams also brought many interesting art performances to the festival. Most of them focused on praising Uncle Ho, the Party, and love for country and people. The Tran Phu ward of Quy Nhon city won the first prize with a series of dancing and singing shows, entitled “The festival of the hometown”. Nhon Hai and Nhon Chau were runners-up which also performed different dances and songs having good impression on the audience.

“The festival brought a bustling atmosphere to Nhon Ly,” said head of Ly Luong hamlet of Nhon Ly commune, Dang Tien Hoang. “The villagers became more united when contributing to the activities of the festival.”
