It initially achieved encouraging results.
Tourism industry has recorded good growth over the past years, featuring tourist arrival growth of 22 percent and revenue growth of 23 percent a year over the 2001 - 2010 period. Tourism products have been gradually diversified with higher quality, while accommodation facilities have been expanded and upgraded. Currently, the province has over 110 ranked accommodation establishments with 2,647 rooms. Tourism was advertised in domestic and foreign markets.

Binh Dinh province has a long historical and cultural tradition, seen in its many recognized relic sites. From the tenth century, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Champa and during nearly 500 years of its existence, this monarchy has built invaluable cultural heritages, especially the unique Cham towers. The province is also famous for martial spirit. Martial arts performances and battle drums are only present in this land. In addition, the province has many unique festivals, traditional handicraft villages and unique cuisine. Binh Dinh has reviewed five years of implementing tourism cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City and signed the cooperation agreement for the 2012 - 2017 period. The province also actively cooperates with other provinces and cities to build the ancient capital itinerary, with the destination in the province being Do Ban citadel. The province is also preparing tourism development plans with southern Binh Duong province. Tourism cooperation programmes have brought huge opportunities for Binh Dinh province and other cooperating localities.
